2025 Spring Season Review

SOB FC: (11-2-1)
SOB FC: (11-2-1)

This second half of the 2024-2025 Casa Select Liga 1 season was a standout for our Old Boys. With a very disappointing first half in the Fall the season looked all but over. However, after a fantastic regroup over the off-season the boys were able to go above and beyond to achieve a historic season. The team was able to string together 11 total wins this season with 8 of them coming in a row. The biggest standout game of this season had to be the 4-1 victory over AC Trilogy in the promotion playoff final. What was so telling about this game other than the fact that it was a final, is Sewell’s only loss in league play had been to AC Trilogy in week 2 of the spring campaign. Not only did the lads ball out in the final, but it was amazing to see the turn around they were able to produce since that loss earlier in the season.

Earning this promotion now earns Sewell Old Boys FC a spot in the American Premier Soccer League (APSL). The club will feature in the Delaware River Conference, where they will face the top competition in the New Jersey/Eastern Pennsylvania area. Achieving this promotion earns the club semi-professional status, and should truly be recognized as this club's first huge milestone. With all of that being said, there is still a lot of work to be done over the upcoming off season to make Sewell’s inaugural APSL season a success. All we know is that if the staff and the players can keep up the work ethic shown in the Spring season the sky's the limit for SOB FC.

Casa Select Liga 1: 3rd place

Palangi cup: Round of 16

Promotion playoff: Winner

SOB FC II: (5-5)

The second team was brought back into action this season entering into Casa Select Liga 2. This season definitely featured its ups and downs, which is very evident in the teams even 5-5 record. Despite the lows the team was able to rally together for some big wins. The most notable fixture of Sewell II’s campaign was a 6-5 victory over Sunday Leaguers at WSFS Bank Sportsplex. This game had it all and was the perfect spectacle for the neutral, luckily for us we were on the winning side of it.

While Sewell Old Boys FC II did not achieve its playoff goal, it certainly played its part in the growth of this club. The team served as a way for reserve players to gain real match experience, while also giving standout players the opportunity to compete on the first team. Having reserve team players feature on the first team really helped the first team to earn their promotion especially in the latter stages of the season. Overall, this return of the second team served its purpose and showed us all that by having this pipeline the club itself is heading in the right direction.
